HISTORY
The history of the RESORT is linked to that of the ancient Convent, which tells of the silent presence of the friars who animated the life of the facility throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. The daily life of the community revolved around the ancient cloister, which has been perfectly preserved.
The secularisation of the convent in 1789 by the Republicans marked a brief interruption in the secular history of the Capuchins of Gradara, who were only able to regain possession of the premises in 1822. The complex was consecrated again in 1859. In the early decades of the 20th century, the ancient facility was later converted into a summer residence for seminarians, and then finally sold to private owners, who turned it into a residential villa in 1925.
Today it is the heart and soul of LA LOGGIA HISTORIC RESORT.
