For an appointment with culture, just a few steps from Gradara there are two magnificent places to visit: the Teatro della Regina in Cattolica and the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro.
The Teatro della Regina in Cattolica is a modern and functional theatre, inaugurated in 1996 and designed by Pier Luigi Cervellati, with a horseshoe layout. It boasts 600 seats and a rich theatre season with prose, dance, music and comedy shows with nationally and internationally renowned artists.
Teatro Rossini in Pesaro is an old theatre inaugurated in 1637 as Teatro del Sole and rebuilt in 1818 in neoclassical style, now named after Gioacchino Rossini, the famous composer born in Pesaro in 1792. It boasts 860 seats arranged on four tiers of boxes, an auditorium and a gallery. Every year in August, the Rossini Opera Festival (ROF) is held, the most important opera music festival in the world with a broad international scope, offering an opportunity to hear Rossini's operas in an evocative historical and cultural context.
